Management consulting of protected areas
Comprehensive management is necessary for areas that are of particular importance for the conservation of species and habitats. Good management of protected areas is based on scientific expertise and derives measures from area-specific monitoring and analyses, which in turn must be checked for feasibility. It is essential to involve all relevant stakeholders, as biodiversity can only be preserved, promoted and restored together.
We offer these protected area management services and can draw on many years of experience and broad expertise in the ecological, zoological and botanical fields. We take on all the necessary tasks: from the creation of evidence-based guidelines for action and the conceptualisation of measures to the involvement of relevant stakeholders and coordination with the responsible authorities through to the concrete implementation and adaptation of measures in the affected areas. Relevant nature conservation topics are communicated to the general public through public relations work and excursions, and interested parties have the opportunity to become active for nature themselves through events such as workshops or maintenance work.
Protected area managers are therefore the first point of contact for any interventions, problems or questions in or about the area.
We currently manage the following protected areas on behalf of the province of Lower Austria:
